Lucky Stars Sweet Jar returns – Jupiter in Pisces Community Altar Service

Jupiter’s at home in Pisces – you could call it his command center or throne room, even – so this is great big benevolent Jupiter energy:  wisdom, expansion, opportunity, dreams, the intuitive search for the truth, spirituality. It’s a wonderful, much-anticipated transit after the strain, drama, and restriction of 2020-2021. Jupiter in Pisces is just plain lucky – an excellent “good luck charm” transit. It’s a great time to ask the universe for what you want.

All Souls Vigil Service with Novena and Chaplet for the Dead – Free Options

Nine-day vigil, novena, and Chaplet for the Dead service.

Have lights set and worked on my altar in a nine-day community altar  service beginning the night of November 2nd, All Souls Day. There is some wiggle room and you can join up after the work starts as long as you see that there are still spots left and it doesn’t say “sold out.”

Along with setting and working lights in the name of your loved one, I will perform a nine-day novena and daily recitation of the Chaplet of the Dead, with appropriate offerings, incense, and other materials and including a photo of your loved one if you have one to send.

The Chaplet of the Dead is a four-decade rosary that includes prayers such as the De Profundis (Psalm 130) and prayers for the repose of the departed soul and the comfort of the bereaved.

In Catholic tradition, the prayers of the living faithful can benefit the souls of those who are in Purgatory. Once purified, these souls will join the company of heaven. Once a loved one has died, they can no longer engage in works or deeds on their own behalf, but the living can pray for them and dedicate their own works and deeds for their benefit, thus helping them enter the presence of God and the saints.

Even if you don’t believe in purgatory in the most literal sense, these prayers and offerings focus on peace and rest of the departed and can serve as comfort for both the dead and their loved ones who are grieving. And it’s completely appropriate to perform such a service for ancestors whose names are unknown, as well, or for the souls of the departed who have no one living to pray for them. You can also use this service as an opportunity to thank those departed, known or unknown, whom you’ve received help or comfort from yourself.

You do not have to book a spot in the vigil service in order to have your loved one’s name and/or a petition included in my 9 days of novena and chaplet prayers. You can simply fill out  the intake form and in place of the service/order #, type “all souls novena prayers only.” There is no cost for this option (though if you’d like to, you can make an optional donation here. October Protection/Reversing Community Altar Service (begins Thursday the 21st)

This service focuses on goals related to protection (both spiritual and physical), deflecting negativity, and in cases where someone is aiming something at you personally, returning that crap right back to the sender.

Your name and petition/intention will be added with those of other participants to what is basically a protective container spell – a sort of spiritual and energetic fortress, if you will, with watchful and powerful guardians encircling you. I work these community rites on my altars for a month, from (just after) the full moon to full moon, with special attention to pertinent moon phases, astrological transits, holy days, etc. as applicable. Participants receive a link to my client calendar detailing the work over the course of the month and are invited to a private Discord chat for participants.

There are Pay What You Can options for this community altar service.

In many cases, this service lends itself especially well to the construction of protective charms, amulets, mojos, pakets, etc., and you can opt to have me make and send you one.

You can also opt to add a “care package” tailored to your situation, to have me ship you hand-selected and hand-blended spiritual baths and other supplies useful your particular situation.

Mercury Retrograde Remediation Service – Sep 26-Oct 18

If there’s one bit of astrology beyond sun sign that everybody knows about, it’s probably Mercury Retrograde. This infamous event happens three times a year, and since Mercury rules things like communication, travel, negotiation, legal stuff, contracts and agreements, it can wreak havoc on all kinds of important areas in your life. So stay in bed, wear fuzzy slippers, don’t sign anything or buy/sell anything, don’t start any new relationships or go on any trips, and for the love of God, don’t touch a computer, or Mercury will nuke your life.

Or so the popular wisdom in some circles goes, anyway 🙂

Not only is that not even possible or practical, it’s also not even necessary. Frankly, I’ve always thought the uproar over Mercury retrograde is way overblown in the “public imagination,” and as with anything astrological, how much it affects you and how will depend on your personal natal chart and what areas in it Mercury RX is affecting.

Having said all that, I still probably wouldn’t buy a new computer while Mercury is retrograde if I had a choice 🙂 But Mercury RX does affect some of us more than others and will sometimes affect us more than usual, and we very often do not have a choice when it comes to things like contracts, technology, court dates, travel, etc.

If you find Mercury RX tends to wreak havoc in your life, or you have an important Mercury-ruled event coming up during the retrograde period that you cannot control the timing of, or you just want a little added peace of mind during this transit, that’s what this community ritual service is designed for.

Ritual service involves setting of dressed, fixed lights, among other things, and these generally burn for about 5 days. If you’d like to have lights set continuously during the period of Mercury retrograde, you can book the additional lights as an add-on. Or if you’d just like an offertory or votive light set for a shorter duration, perhaps right before an important meeting, you can do that, too.

Please note that community altar work services do not come with individual readings/reports, though I will post at least one photo of the work to the Discord “forum,” which you’ll receive an invitation to after you book if you’re not already a  member.

internet update + Protection/Reversing community altar service

Just got internet back yesterday afternoon after the latest round of the neverending dance with what must be the worst ISP in North America. So even casual, irregular readers probably know the chorus to this tune by now: “I’m working on getting caught up” and “sorry I’m posting this so late.”

I’ve been wanting to offer something like this for a while, and I finally have a space cleared to dedicate an altar to it full-time. This way, I can offer it as a regular, ongoing service every month that people can drop into as the need arises without having to book anything.

There are Pay What You Can options for this community altar service.

Purpose/Goals

This service focuses on goals related to protection (both spiritual and physical), deflecting negativity, and in cases where someone is aiming something at you personally, returning that crap right back to the sender. The nice thing about reversing work is it just bounces things back – if there’s nobody to bounce anything back on, no harm done, but if there is, well, they set it in motion and your conscience is clear.

If you have questions about any of this work, you can ask them and I’ll answer them in our private forum, where you can also trade ideas and perspectives with other participants if you want to. For instance, you might want to time a spiritual bath to coincide with a planetary day/hour or astrological event or saints’ day. I will occasionally make suggestions for things like this, too, if there’s anything interesting happening in the astrological or liturgical calendar.

At the conclusion of the service, I will ritually deploy or disperse the materia magica used in the working as appropriate to your petition/situation.

Please note that community altar work services do not come with individual readings/reports, though I will post at least one photo of the work to the Discord “forum,” which you’ll receive an invitation to after you book.

Community altar work services focus on a particular goal or area and have a limited number of “seats” for each working. They are a great compromise between big workings open to any number of folks (inexpensive but with little customization available) and hiring a worker to do 100% custom, private services just for you (completely tailored to you but often considerably more expensive since the costs of time and materia magica are not being shared by more than one person).

St. Bartholomew Altar Service & Talisman – Uncrossing, Protection, Cast Off Evil, Spiritual Cleansing, Road Opening

This is a three-day service beginning the night of August 24th, the feast day of St. Bartholomew. There is some wiggle room and you can join up after the work starts as long as you see that there are still spots left and it doesn’t say “sold out.”

St. Bartholomew is the patron saint of bookbinders, butchers, tanners, and cheese makers. Some very brief and pretty confusing scriptural references mean he’s numbered among the original apostles, so we don’t know that much about him as a historical figure. But as is so often the case, rich folk traditions have filled in the gaps.

His strong association with knives and sharp things has a gruesome origin – he’s said to have been martyred by being skinned alive – but today he’s associated not just with the literal cutting of things but also with cutting *through* things more figuratively. So his devotees might call on him if they’re undergoing surgery, or if they need to “cut through” a web of lies or obfuscation to see clearly into the heart of a matter.

Folks who work in restaurants, delis, and kitchens call on him as a patron for any number of employment- and career-related petitions, from obtaining regular work to avoiding work-related injury.

You can also call on him for strength and protection when you need to resist the wiles of the devil or free yourself from negativity, evil, crossed conditions, and various kinds of temptation.

During this work, I will be creating an amulet called a St. Bartholomew’s Cross. I’ll make a few extras to offer separately later on in the shop, but if you want to guarantee you get one, you can book this service and add the amulet option, and it will go out in the mail to you when it’s finished (which you should allow at least ten business days’ for from completion of this service).

This cross comes from the Spanish Cyprianic grimoire tradition and is used for uncrossing and protection. Its power has also traditionally been invoked against lightning storms, to help women in labor, to remove the evil eye and crossed conditions, and to help clear the way, opening roads and removing obstacles. St. Bartholomew’s devotees who carry this cross and pray his prayer regularly are said to have the escort of the Virgin Mary as psychopomp at the hour of death to avoid the torment of devils and be guided to heaven.

The handmade wooden cross, which takes several consecutive days to make in a ritual setting with a very specific list of components and ingredients, will come in a hand-sewn bag with accompanying dried herbs. So this is a full-blown, handmade, artisan charm bag or mojo bag type of setup, not just a holy medal and a few grains or leaves slapped into a cheap bag or something like that.

If you join up after midnight my time on the 24th, it’s totally fine – your work won’t technically have started on St. Bartholomew’s feast day in that case, but there’s actually nothing in the old Cyprianic grimoires that says this work has to be done at a certain day/time/time of year. It just has to be done the right way. And the cross has to be made the right way. And since that takes *days,* this altar setup is going to be up and working for some time.

Cor Leonis Community Altar Service + Talisman — for courage, victory, recognition, stamina, healing, power shifts

Yes, Saturn’s been in Aquarius for a while now. This isn’t new. And it will be there into 2023. And it’s been all stompy and cranky with the lockdowns and restrictions and quarantines.

But we just had a major, stellar full moon, astrologically speaking (forgive the pun), with the moon in Aquarius conjunct beneficent Jupiter and making actually ZERO hard or negative aspects for just a few hours. Pretty rare lineup of lovely, really. Talked about it in the client forum a bit if you missed it.

And right now, the sun’s conjunct Regulus, one of the so-called Fixed Stars, the brightest one in the constellation of Leo, also known as Cor Leonis, or the heart of the lion. This one is all about success, courage, strength, victory. It’s not a super long-lasting conjunction, but wow, is it ever timely right now.

Remember our Saturn-Jupiter conjunction in December? At 0 degrees Aquarius? This was a *huge* pivot, a major shift in a massive long term cycle that took us into a new 200-year elemental cycle and for that matter, towards a new social paradigm that we’re still in the process of creating or delineating right now.

This bright flash of Leo energy can help us catch our breath for a second, grab hold of our courage if it’s slipped, and make sure we’re still in touch with our hearts, which should be our navigators through all this, and we still have a ways to go – a quick checkup or check-within is not at all amiss right now.

So all of this is about our gradually gaining strength to continue walking where we need to go, *in spite of* whatever environmental bullshit might be distracting us or threatening to wear us out. Yeah, Saturn is the cranky old schoolmaster, sure, and things haven’t exactly been easy, but Saturn’s goal isn’t our misery. It’s just our learning. And when we struggle with and come out the other side of those Saturn challenges, and we’ve really learned, there are rewards.

But none of this is ever instant gratification with Saturn. It’s all about digging in there and being consistent and staying the path. And it would not be weird at all if you were tired. And this brief little burst of insight, hope, balance, and greater perspective that the full moon brought us the potential for? Well, alongside the beneficence of the Cor Leonis conjunction, it can bring us a shot in the arm (so to speak! lol) in terms of strength and stamina, too, and I think it’s particularly appropriate that Regulus is associated with Raphael, the healer archangel.

So you might use this service:

  • to reaffirm intentions or petitions you set earlier in the year for where you need to be heading in the coming months
  • to adjust or narrow down or hone in on your goals/focal points for the coming months
  • to invoke the clarity, stamina, and strength of Cor Leonis in the midst of your journey here
  • to grab hold of your courage if you’ve temporarily misplaced it in any of the noise and confusion
  • to turn the tables or catch the upper hand in a situation that’s been characterized by power imbalances and shifts (in wrestling terms, finally pinning that opponent you’ve been striving against)
  • for petitions to refresh your coffers/gas tank/material resources if the journey so far is seeing them a little lower than you’d like
  • to open or strengthen the lines of communication with the archangel Raphael the healer

Upcoming Community Spiritual Services

The St. Martha service started on July 29th, but there are several modes of work available as part of this service, and most of them can be booked at any point during the month. There are some Pay What You Can options, too.

August honey jars for prosperity/career/income and for love/relationships start on Monday, August 9th. As usual, the prosperity/income jar has Pay What You Can options.

I’m still working on recovering photos from when I blew up my Google Drive – somehow some folder exploded all over my desktop or something, or maybe i just accidentally copied *everything* to my desktop – I’m not really sure – but I’m still working on cleaning up that mess. But as I locate and identify stuff, I’m getting the Discord server/relevant clients as applicable updated with their photos/reports/etc. So if you haven’t visited the server in a while because I hadn’t posted a damn thing to it lol, I’m getting caught up there 🙂

St. Martha Altar Service: Steady Work, Fair Pay, Balance of Power, Peaceful Home, Domination — with Pay What You Can options

Sorry for getting this set up so late – my internet has basically been useless for about a month now, but they finally came to fix it, so I can finally connect via my computer again.

There’s currently a double rewards points bonus at the Seraphin Station shop good now until midnight August 5th.

This work begins the night of July 29th, the feast day of St. Martha, but there are several different modes of different lengths running concurrently here, so you absolutely can book late, as long as you see slots still available for the service you’re interested in.

St. Martha in the Bible:

“Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.” – John 11:5

Famously depicted in the Bible as getting stuck with all the cooking and cleaning while her sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to him teach, St. Martha is the patron saint of servers, cooks, domestic workers, housewives,  and those in the hospitality industry – those who are behind the scenes making important things go even when nobody notices.

Her devotees will call on her for intercession when they need steady work, especially in these fields, or when they are having difficulty with their work, for instance if pay is slow in coming or a boss or manager is being unfair. She’s often called on to help with peace in the home, as well, as an extension of her association with the domestic sphere.

St. Martha the Dominator

Some legends have her leaving Bethany for France after Christ’s death and resurrection. William Caxton’s 1483 English translation of the Golden Legend tells how she tamed an infamous monster through her confidence in the power of God, her faith in the sign of the cross, and her skill in using the domestic tools with which she was familiar and comfortable.

And this was no garden variety baby dragon. It was really more of a sea monster, half beast and half fish, the offspring of the infamous Leviathan and some Galician beast. It was bigger than an ox and had the strength of a dozen lions (or bears, take your pick). It regularly sank ships and ate people.

Martha, being a badass, made short work of the beast by tying it up with her girdle (which can be understood in context as her belt). She didn’t need a sword or armor.

The Golden Legend explains in detail how the creature defended itself from attack, and boy is it disgusting.
Read more about St. Martha, her history, and working with her in general at this main article.

These extra-scriptural legends account for much of her fame and reputation as a patron saint. She is called on for assistance by those who need to get the upper hand in any kind of relationship in which they find themselves “at the bottom of the totem pole.” In conjure and in the folk traditions of Latin America, she’s earned the title of St. Martha the Dominator, and she’s often called on when women want to dominate a man.

But in this role as dominatrix, she is also petitioned to help employees get better treatment from their employers, for instance, especially if they are household employees like kitchen servants or nannies. So she is a great ally for all types of situations in which you are the underdog, or you might be taken for granted, or there’s a built-in power imbalance in a situation.

There is a tradition in some circles that she doesn’t like men and won’t work for them, but that’s not always necessarily true. It depends on what they’re asking her for and how they’re approaching her. You can read more about this and about working with Martha more generally at Big Lucky Hoodoo where there’s an entire article with lots of resources devoted just to working with St. Martha.

In orthodox Roman Catholicism, she is also the patron of dietitians, hemophiliacs, housewives, landlords, waitresses, servants, cooks, and women workers. Will she help a man in any of these roles?  I have certainly known her to. And that she assists in situations that don’t have anything to do with “dominating” someone should go without saying at this point.

Under the title of “St. Martha the Dominator,” she has gained a widespread reputation, and there is a ton of info out there on dominating work under her aegis. But just as you might call on St. Joseph under his title “St. Joseph the Worker” for work-related petitions, but you understand it’s the same saint, the same person, not two different people, so you can call on St. Martha for things that don’t involve wayward spouses at all. And you certainly don’t have to be a woman to call on her.

I’ve heard folks say she’s helped them with sibling issues in their family, like jealousy, or manipulative attention-grubbing, or rivalry.  I’ve also heard her called on by folks who are facing difficulties in managing their households because of strife or poverty; along with St. Joseph, she is a wonderful ally if you have a lot of mouths to feed and you are running short of money and resources to take care of them all.

St. Martha Oil

My St. Martha formula is created from this sort of three-dimensional perspective of St. Martha rather than focusing only on her role as a dominator, and the same is true with this service I’m offering. While it’s suitable to use if you’re asking her help in getting the upper hand with a boss or returning a straying spouse, it’s also suitable to use if you’re setting lights to honor or thank her, if you want to invoke her aid for something specific, or if you’re seeking her help for something more general like patience or pragmatism.

Even when the difficulty is internal rather than interpersonal, St. Martha can help. If, for instance, you need help accepting the fact that right now in your life, you have to be waiting tables if you want to be able to stay in this town and have a shot at an acting career down the road; if you’re struggling with disappointment, envy, or resentment related to your current station in life; or if you need help accepting the things you cannot change while you’re figuring out how to change the things you can, then St. Martha can be a great ally for you.

Learn more about the service and the available options, including Pay What You Can if you’re facing financial difficulties and want to petition her for help, at the Seraphin Station shop.

Mercury Retrograde service, bonus rewards points

If you find Mercury RX tends to wreak havoc in your life, or you have an important Mercury-ruled event coming up during the retrograde period that you cannot control the timing of, or you just want a little added peace of mind during this transit, that’s what this community ritual service is designed for – to help you navigate this round of Mercury retrograde with minimum fallout.

Work begins on Saturday, May 29th. There is some wiggle room and you can book late as long as you still see available slots.

Learn more or book your spot at Seraphin Station.

Community altar work services focused on a particular goal or area and with a limited number of “seats” for each working are a great compromise between big workings open to any number of folks (inexpensive but with little customization available) and hiring a worker to do 100% custom, private services just for you (completely tailored to you but often considerably more expensive since the cost of time and materia magica are not being shared by more than one person).

Participants are invited to my client Discord server where they can ask questions, chat with me and other participants, and see photos of the work in progress. Joining the server is not mandatory, but a lot of clients like the option to have ongoing convos “backstage,” as it were, and in fact, some have been there continuously since I started offering community altar work services last year, and it’s actually become a little community – and everybody in it is really cool. No question-shaming or anything like that 🙂

Double rewards points now through midnight Central time on June 1. Find out more about the free rewards program here.

“Lucky Stars Sweet Jar” Community Altar Service: Jupiter in Pisces (May 13-May 31)

Work begins Thursday, May 13th, but this altar setting will be worked and available for the whole time Jupiter is in Pisces this go-round — about 2.5 months, until July 28th — so you absolutely can jump in late as long as you see slots still available.

This round or phase runs through the end of May, but you’ll have the option of booking/renewing/extending for the next round with no interruption a little closer to that date. My goal is to try to speak to everyone participating in the initial phase before the end of the month to work with them on articulating, identifying, imagining, obtaining, and/or creating their own very particular and very personal “lucky stars Jupiter good luck charm” that they can have going forward. This will be potentially quite time consuming work that I’m not being compensated for, so that’s why I want to bookend it with a definite cut-off date.

What’s This For?

So this is a great opportunity to sow some seeds now for what you’d like to see take flight in this realm next year when Jupiter spends most the year in Pisces. Jupiter’s at home in Pisces, so this is great big benevolent Jupiter energy – wisdom, the intuitive search for the truth, spirituality. We can get a booster shot of faith and optimism now that we’ve finally gotten shut of some Saturn energy that’s been weighing on us for a couple of years now. And Jupiter in Pisces is just plain lucky – an excellent “good luck charm” transit. What’s kind of rare here is that Neptune is also in Pisces at this time, and together, Jupiter and Neptune co-rule that sign. Jupiter’s urge towards expansiveness and Neptune’s urge towards larger social and mystical vision can combine for some crazy big magical opportunities, especially those related to Neptune’s wheelhouse.

You don’t apply for certain types of jobs because (fill in your demographic) never gets those jobs? *This is when you should flout the odds and apply anyway.* Nobody in your family has a lick of psychic ability and you’ve always thought your tarot cards might be deliberately messing with you? *Time to call them on it and figure out what’s going on.* Found your dream home but your annual income is missing a few zeroes you’re sure you’d need to get financing? *They just might overlook that strictly by the book stuff this time* – might as well ask Jupiter to send a little of that expansive benevolence your way.

If there’s some burden or limitation or restriction you’ve always thought you’d never get out of from under, you’d never get ahead of, this is the time to suspend that cynicism or resignation and see what’s possible, see if you can get some leverage or hint of fresh air in the next couple of months that  might change your perspective and give you an enlarged sense of what might be possible in 2022.

Pay What You Can

Because Saturn and COVID both have been kinda breathing down our necks and trying to crowd everything else out of our spaces for a while now, I’m offering this as a pay what you can service.

If you can pay the regular rate, great! If things are finally looking up for you and you can afford to pay the extra donation rate, or you want to make a donation to fulfill a vow of offering to a saint or spirit, that donation rate helps offset some of the costs I’m absorbing otherwise.

But if not, no worries – if you or someone you know needs a booster shot of Jupiter luck and abundance but money’s tight, it’s fine to book the reduced rate option – that’s what it’s there for. As long as I have a solid handful of participants and I can at least break even on materials used/consumed in performing the work, I don’t mind donating some of my time to help folks who are in a tight spot and need some help.

How It Works

This service will be conducted somewhat like a honey jar, though the container will be containing other things specific to these planetary energies. But much like a honey jar, your petition and any personal concerns you send (e.g. photos, documents) will be added to the jar and the jar worked on a very specific schedule for the entirety of the time period covered by the service.

Once I’ve got everything set up, I’ll send out a notification email that will contain an invitation to the client Discord server if you’d like to join. That’s where in-progress photos and discussion can happen. (I don’t discuss workings in progress or send updates on an individual basis to participants in community altar work, but I will join a conversation or answer questions that are posed on the client Discord server.)

You’ll also get a link to my client calendar. It will show you key dates and times that you might choose to take advantage of on your own, as well. For instance, you might want to time a spiritual bath to coincide with a planetary day/hour or astrological event. I will occasionally make suggestions for things like this, too.

If you want to book on behalf of a friend or loved one, that’s fine for this type of work, even if they don’t know about it.

I will set the first light on the prepared jar on the evening of Thursday, May 13th, so it’s ideal to get your petition in before then. However, there is plenty of wiggle room and you *can* join up after the work starts.
